§ 74. Mr. Manderasked the Minister of Information the object of the publication, ''17 American Naval, Military and Aviation Experts say—Britain will Win," whether he is aware that no British subject doubts this; and whether he will state the number of copies printed and the cost?
§ Mr. BrackenThis booklet was originally produced for distribution in countries overseas. As it attracted some attention in this country, and as the cost of printing further copies was relatively small, it was decided to produce 140,000 copies for distribution at Home. The cost of these copies was £907.
§ Mr. ManderDoes the Minister think expenditure of this kind is really justified, in view of the overwhelming support for the policy of the Government in the war?
§ Mr. BrackenThis project was arranged last year. I have given the hon. Gentleman an official answer. My unofficial views coincide with his.
§ Mr. R. C. MorrisonIs the Minister aware that members of local information committees are being constantly supplied with information which is very much out of date long before it reaches them, and which need not be sent?
§ Mr. BrackenI shall be glad to inquire into the hon. Gentleman's information.
