HC Deb 20 November 1941 vol 376 c447
33. Lieut.-Colonel Sir Thomas Moore

asked the Minister of Health whether he will take steps to ensure that the gardens which are now being derailinged in London will be taken over by the respective local authorities?

Mr. Henry Strauss

On a point of Order. Ought not this Question to be put in the English language?

Mr. E. Brown

I do not think that the removal of railings from these squares is in itself a sufficient reason for a change of ownership and control, but if my hon. and gallant Friend will let me have particulars of any difficulties that have been brought to his notice I will consider them in consultation with my right hon. and noble Friend the Minister of Supply.

Sir T. Moore

Apart altogether from the de-railing, who will be responsible for the care of these gardens after the railings have been removed?

Mr. Brown

The responsibility will, of course, remain as it has been in the past, with those to whom they belong.
