§ The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works and Buildings (Mr. Hicks)A school for the training of Government staff in the use of fire-fighting apparatus was opened at Macdonald Street, Birmingham, on 26th July last and since that date a total of 1,300 Civil Service personnel has been trained. The instruction includes practical training in the use of all fire-fighting equipment from first-aid appliances to trailer pumps. The facilities provided at 280 Birmingham are available to all Government staffs in the Midland Civil Defence Region.
