HC Deb 13 May 1941 vol 371 c1087
Mr. Lees-Smith

With regard to the Committee stage of the Allied Powers (Maritime Courts) Bill, which is on the Order Paper for the Third Sitting Day, will the Prime Minister take into account the fact that the Bill was issued last week only, that the Second Reading is to-day, and that it might be well to have a longer interval before taking the Committee stage?

The Prime Minister

My right hon. Friend the Home Secretary will be making a statement on that subject which will perhaps resolve some of the doubts, but we are very anxious to get this Measure through. It is a matter of practical urgency for the carrying-on of the war. I should like to have it passed as fast as the House feels able to do so.
