HC Deb 18 March 1941 vol 370 cc27-8
36. Sir Francis Fremantle

(for Sir Ernest Graham-Little)asked the Minister of Labour whether he will give consideration in revising the Schedule of Reserved Occupations, to the necessity of retaining a sufficient number of employés of firms publishing medical and nursing books, a category in which fresh publications are demanded by the continuous advances in medicine and nursing?

Mr. Tomlinson

I am advised that it would not be practicable to place such publishing firms in a special category. If in any case it is regarded as important to retain the services of a particular individual, application for deferment may be made in the usual manner.
