HC Deb 11 March 1941 vol 369 c1144
30. Mr. Cove

asked the Minister of In formation whether he will make arrangements for the broadcasting of the case for a statement of peace aims, as distinct from peace terms, by a non-pacifist at an early date?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Information (Mr. Harold Nicolson)

The case for and against a discussion of peace aims has been ventilated both on the wireless and in the Press, and the Government see no reason at present to encourage further discussion.

Mr. Stokes

Will my hon. Friend state the date on which a statement of peace aims was made?

Mr. Nicolson

I am afraid I should want notice of that question.
