§ 53. Sir H. Williamsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the duties of the Treasury Investigating Section; and whether he is satisfied that the staff of this Section are vested with adequate powers for the performance of these duties?
§ Sir K. WoodThe duties of the Treasury Investigating Section are to advise and assist Departments on matters of organisation and method. The Section has been considerably strengthened since the outbreak of war, and steps are being taken further to ensure the fullest co-operation with the Departments so that full advantage may be taken of the experience of the members of the Section.
§ Sir H. WilliamsCan my right hon. Friend say whether the staff of this Section have always received full co-operation from the Departments with which they are working?
§ Sir K. WoodThat is a matter about which I would have to make some research.
§ Sir H. WilliamsWill my right hon. Friend be good enough to make that research?
§ Sir K. WoodMy hon. Friend had better send me some items which I can investigate.
