HC Deb 10 June 1941 vol 372 c22
36. Mr. Kenneth, Lindsay

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many vacant places now exist in the camp schools of Scotland?

Mr. Johnston

The number of vacant places in the Scottish evacuation camps on 6th June, 1941, was 250. It is hoped, however, that approximately 100 of these places will be filled this week.

Colonel Colville

Is the right hon. Gentleman satisfied that the camps built to assist the Glasgow area are in fact being fully utilised now that the result of enemy air attack makes it desirable to use them?

Mr. Johnston

Yes, Sir, as a matter of fact every one of the camps attached to Glasgow is fully occupied.
