HC Deb 17 July 1941 vol 373 c737
53. Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in connection with increased food production, he will circulate an appeal to all industrial employers throughout the country asking them to ascertain whether there is any adjoining land which can be borrowed and made available for their employees as allotments?

Mr. Hudson

I am anxious to secure a further large increase in the number of allotments under cultivation next season, and my Department is actively considering the various means by which this end may be achieved. Many employers have already done much to encourage the cultivation of allotments by their workers, but I will certainly consider the possibility of taking further action on the lines suggested in the Question.
