Considered in Committee, under Standing Order 69.

Resolved, That for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to extend the third fixed grant period under the Local Government Act, 1929, and to make provision for the stabilisation of Supplementary Exchequer Grants and for other purposes, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of any increase in the sums so payable which is attributable:

  1. (a)to the extension of the said period until such date as Parliament may hereafter determine;

  2. (b) to the stabilisation for the term of the extension of the said period of Supplementary Exchequer Grants under the Local Government Act, 1929;
  3. (c) to the continuation during the said term of schemes under Section ninety-three of the last-mentioned Act in respect of maternity and child welfare services."— (King's recommendation signified.) —[Mr. Ernest Brown.]
