HC Deb 23 January 1941 vol 368 c293
28. Mr. Brooke

asked the Home Secretary whether he has yet reached a decision on the question of rates of pay for members of the Civil Defence services holding positions of special responsibility, which was stated more than three months ago to be under examination?

Mr. H. Morrison

I regret that I am not yet in a position to make a statement.

Mr. Brooke

Can the Minister give the real reason for the prolonged delay, which is very unfair to men in these services?

Mr. Morrison

One of the reasons is that the matter has now become involved with other questions. I am anxious that there should be no delay.
