HC Deb 23 January 1941 vol 368 c272
4. Mr. Ammon

asked the Minister of Labour whether he has any statement to make as to the wilful slowing-down of production in munition factories and payment in the same for overtime not worked?

Mr. Bevin

I have made inquiries but can find no evidence that the practices referred to by my hon. Friend are occurring. If I were given specific instances, I should, of course, take steps to have them examined.

Mr. Ammon

Has my right hon. Friend seen the Press cuttings I sent to him, and does he not think that that sort of thing is likely to create more trouble and upset?

Mr. Bevin

I see so much in the Press that is inaccurate that I take no notice of it.
