§ 45. Dr. Little
asked the Prime Minister whether he will consider the appointment of another National Day of Prayer in the near future, when thanks will be returned to God for what He has done for our nation and prayer offered for a continuance of His help and favour until victory has been won?

On a point of Order, Mr. Speaker. Would it not be more in accord with the constitution of both Houses of Parliament if the initiative in matters of this kind came from another place rather than from this House?

I am not quite clear what the hon. Member has in mind.

My right hon. Friend has been in consultation with the ecclesiastical authorities, and I am in a position to say that an announcement will be made very shortly.

§ Dr. Little
In view of the feeling in the country regarding a National Day of Prayer, will the right hon. Gentleman ask the Prime Minister to reach an early decision on this matter?
