HC Deb 19 February 1941 vol 369 cc148-9
40. Sir A. Maitland

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether his attention has been drawn to the difficulties of the poultry industry and the prospect of scarcity of eggs next winter; and what steps are being taken in connection therewith?

Major Lloyd George

I am aware of the difficulties of the poultry industry and of the present and prospective shortage of eggs due to the shortage of feeding-stuffs. I can, however, hold out no hope that it will be possible for some time to come to increase the supplies of feeding-stuffs for poultry.
