§ 52. Mr. Higgsasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware of the useful work that is being done on the land by female workers in addition to the Land Army, and of the assistance they have rendered the farmers; and if he is in a position to assure the House that there is no intention of taking any women off the land for other forms of national service; and is he aware that a flow of recruits for land work is most necessary at the present time, as it is now convenient to train them ready for next season?
Mr. HudsonYes, Sir, and I am informed by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour and National Service that there is no intention to withdraw women from full-time paid employment on the land whether they are in the Women's Land Army or not. Other cases will receive individual consideration.
