HC Deb 01 April 1941 vol 370 cc847-8
30. Mr. Sloan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware that thousands of tons of turnips have gone to waste in Dumfriesshire because the sheep that they were intended to feed have been immaturely slaughtered; and what does he propose to prevent a recurrence of this happening?

Mr. Westwood

If the hon. Member will be good enough to give my right hon. Friend more precise particulars of the locality in which the waste referred to in the Question is said to have occurred, he will have immediate inquiries made.
