HC Deb 18 September 1940 vol 365 c152
27. Mr. Keeling

asked the Minister of Supply whether he is aware that large quantities of paper and other articles suitable for salvage are still put into dustbins and lost; and whether he will again consider the proposal that householders be required by order to keep such things for separate collection?

Mr. H. Morrison

In view of the response by householders generally to the appeals for their co-operation in the salvage campaign, and having regard to present circumstances, I do not consider it desirable to make an order at this juncture in the sense suggested by my hon. Friend.
