HC Deb 16 October 1940 vol 365 c691
41. Mr. Brooke

asked the Minister of Health what arrangements exist for cooperation between emergency rest centres and the nearest first-aid posts when homeless people at the rest centres need slight nursing attention?

Miss Horsbrugh

The officers in charge of rest centres have been instructed to make themselves aware of the address of the nearest first-aid post. In London there is a nurse available at short notice for any centre at which she may be required during the day, and at night a nurse is regularly in attendance in the majority of the centres. Instructions are being issued that similar arrangements should be made throughout the country.
