§ 20. Mr. Wedgwoodasked the Secretary of State for War whether, during the winter in Iceland, our troops in that country will be employed in learning the language and history of that country, and teaching the inhabitants English, so as to increase contact and good feeling?
§ Mr. EdenPersonnel of the Army Educational Corps are being sent to Iceland with the necessary text-books and material. It will be the duty of these officers and men to ascertain the needs of the troops in the matter of education and arrange for them to be met. I have no doubt that a desire on the part of the inhabitants to learn English, as indeed any other reasonable request, would meet with a sympathetic response from the troops.
Mr. J. J. DavidsonAre we allowed to make suggestions as to who should lead those people in Iceland?
