HC Deb 08 October 1940 vol 365 c252
55 and 56. Mr. Wedgwood

asked the Prime Minister (1) whether, in view of the Dakar withdrawal, he will see that any future expeditions are under the command of a British officer; (2) why the three French cruisers were allowed to proceed unmolested to Dakar?

The Prime Minister

Perhaps my right hon. Friend would be good enough to await the statement which I propose to make later.
