§ Mr. LawAbout 45,000 troops are still under canvas. As regards the second part of the Question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave to my hon. Friends the Members for Chatham (Captain Plugge) and Colne Valley (Mr. Glenvil Hall) on the 15th October last, of which I am sending him a copy.
§ Mr. ThorneIs the Minister aware that, in a number of cases, soldiers are sleeping on the floor without mattresses, and will he look into the matter?
§ Mr. Glenvil HallCan the Minister hold out any hope that 45,000 men will soon be in billets, as was promised?
§ Mr. LawAs I told the hon. Member some time ago, there is an improvement in the position every week.
