HC Deb 28 May 1940 vol 361 c411
46. Mr. Mander

asked the Prime Minister whether it is his intention to answer himself important Foreign Office Questions as was the practice of his predecessor?

Mr. Attlee

No, Sir. Foreign Office Questions should be put down to my right hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, but in the case of Questions affecting matters of high policy on which it is desirable that the answer should be given by a member of the War Cabinet, this duty will be undertaken by my right hon. Friend the Lord President of the Council.
