asked the Secretary of State for War what position, if any, Captain C. P. Davis now occupies in the War Office?

Mr. Stanley

This officer was under notice for employment in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps when his services were asked for by the Ministry of Supply. It is now proposed to carry out the original intention.

Mr. Craven-Ellis

May I ask whether Captain Davis is being posted, and, if so, to where?

Mr. Stanley

I have said that it is proposed to carry out the original intention to employ this officer in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps. I cannot at the moment say where he will be actually employed.

Have the War Office any intention of conducting an inquiry into the recent incident?

Mr. Stanley

No, Sir. My right hon. Friend the Minister of Supply said yesterday, in answer to a Question, that he made no allegations against the conduct of this officer.

I assume that there are no allegations from the War Office?
