43. Mr. Gordon MacDonald

asked the Home Secretary whether he is now in a position to place before Parliament the proposals of the Government to amend the law relating to workmen's compensation?

44. Mr. J. Griffiths

asked the Home Secretary whether he is now in a position to make a further statement in regard to the claim for immediate increase in the payments under the Workmen's Compensation Acts?

Sir J. Anderson

Consultations have been proceeding as rapidly as possible, and I hope to be in a position to make a statement of the Government's intentions at an early date.

Mr. Macdonald

Will the Home Secretary be able to make a statement before Easter?

Sir J. Anderson

I hope so.
