HC Deb 07 March 1940 vol 358 c559
49. Captain Anstruther-Gray

asked the Home Secretary whether he has yet decided to intern the German ex-soldier Solf on his release from imprisonment?

Sir J. Anderson

As I informed the House in reply to Questions on 29th February, I propose to consider the position of this alien before the expiration of the sentence of one month's imprisonment which he is at present serving.

Captain Anstruther-Gray

Will my right hon. Friend at any rate give us an assurance that this man will not be given further facilities to discover the rate of our machine-tool production and that he will not be given further facilities to observe what goes on at an important aerodrome?

Sir J. Anderson

I shall give full consideration to the case in all its aspects in due time.
