HC Deb 25 June 1940 vol 362 c297
43. Major Braithwaite

asked the Prime Minister whether in view of the serious position, he will take such powers for the Government as will permit all Ministers of the Crown to sit and speak in the House of Commons; and whether he will consider whether it is practicable for the two Houses of Parliament to sit together on urgent secret national affairs?

Mr. Attlee

In present circumstances I am not in favour of taking action such as is suggested by my hon. and gallant Friend.
