HC Deb 13 February 1940 vol 357 c585
70. Mr. Neil Maclean

asked the Secretary for Mines how many tons of coal have been exported from the Clyde in each of the four weeks ended 3rd February; whether he can state the countries to which they were exported; and at what price per ton?

Mr. Lloyd

It is not in the public interest to give the figures of exports.

Mr. Maclean

Is it not in the public interest that the citizens of Glasgow should know where their coal went? Is it not the case that for the fortnight ending the 30th January at least 15,000 tons of coal, household coal, were exported from Glasgow?
