HC Deb 21 August 1940 vol 364 c1310
70. Sir T. Moore

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether it has been found necessary to warn any restaurants as to the menus which they are offering to their clients; and, if so, can he give details?

Mr. Boothby

No warning such as is mentioned by my hon. and gallant Friend has been issued.

Sir T. Moore

Is my hon. Friend not aware that there is no real standard system among restaurants and hotels in London? I cannot speak for outside. Is it not a matter for investigation?

Mr. Boothby

We have issued a general warning. I have no reason to suppose that it is not being on the whole observed.
