§ Sir J. AndersonI am aware that this is the practice in some areas. I have recently issued a Circular, of which I will send my hon. Friend a copy, which modifies existing arrangements and indicates that an unpaid wardens' service should be the objective of all local authorities.
§ Mr. SimmondsWill my right hon. Friend see that a real appeal is to be made by these particular authorities to find volunteers for these warden posts?
§ Sir J. AndersonCertainly an appeal is being made, but my hon. Friend will appreciate that circumstances differ as between area and area.
