HC Deb 25 April 1940 vol 360 c372
71. Captain Plugge

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food the nature of the food commodities which, in the national interest, it is essential to restrict in greater or less degree?

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

If, as I presume, my hon. and gallant Friend refers to restriction on imports, I would refer him to the reply given on 18th April by my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade to a Question on this subject by my hon. Friend the Member for Moss Side (Mr. Rostron Duckworth). Such restriction may apply though with varying force to any imported foodstuffs.
