HC Deb 16 April 1940 vol 359 cc796-7
62. Sir Joseph Lamb

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether his attention has been drawn to the damage done by foxes in South Somerset and the consequent loss sustained by farmers and national food production in that area; that application made to the County War Agricultural Committee has not been successful in obtaining relief in this matter; and what steps he is taking in this matter?

Sir R. Dorman-Smith

I have recently received a complaint of damage caused by foxes in South Somerset and have already taken the matter up with the Masters of Fox Hounds' Association and the County War Agricultural Executive Committee, with a view to the necessary action being taken forthwith by the Hunt concerned to reduce the number of foxes in this district.

Sir T. Moore

Has my right hon. and gallant Friend any knowledge whether these foxes have been worrying lambs?
