HC Deb 26 October 1939 vol 352 cc1570-1
46. Mr. Mander

asked the Prime Minister whether the First Lord of the Admiralty in his broadcast speech on 1st October was speaking on behalf of the Government in his references to Russian action in Poland?

The Prime Minister

My right hon. Friend in his broadcast statement on 1st October gave his own personal interpretation of events in his reference to Russian action in Poland. I can, however, assure the hon. Member that there is nothing in this interpretation which is at variance with the view of His Majesty's Government.

Mr. Gurney Braithwaite

Would it not be possible for the British Broadcasting Corporation to give a monthly opportunity to the hon. Member for East Wolverhampton (Mr. Mander) to give some account to the nation of his activities on the last occasion?

Mr. Gallacher

Would the Prime Minister stop the campaign for switching the war?
