HC Deb 17 October 1939 vol 352 cc673-4
42 and 43. Mr. Kimball

asked the Secretary of State for War (1) whether he will arrange for the widest possible publicity to be given to the Government's policy on the acceptance of volunteers for the Army; and will he issue clear comprehensive instructions to all Army recruiting centres as to age limits and qualifications of volunteers for all branches;

(2) whether some special publicity will be given of those special units now requiring recruits immediately for the information of men wishing to join up at once?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

The answer to these questions is "Yes, Sir."

Mr. Kimball

Is my right hon. Friend aware that owing to restrictions imposed by the Ministry of Information, there has been no publicity either of his speech or of the requirements for special units since the announcement was made last week?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

I will see that all publicity possible is given to it.
