HC Deb 17 October 1939 vol 352 c673
41. Mr. Pearson

asked the Secretary of State for War how many schools have been commandeered by the War Department in Glamorganshire geographical county; is it intended to occupy these premises for the duration of the war; and will he endeavour to find alternative premises to the Park Boys' School, Pontypridd, now used as a recruiting centre?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

Two schools have been taken over by the War Department, and they will be evacuated as soon as possible. The school mentioned in the last part of the question is occupied by the Ministry of Labour and National Service.
