HC Deb 04 October 1939 vol 351 c1938
42. Mr. T. Smith

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that in Yorkshire and other coalfields, mineworkers engaged on the afternoon and night shifts are experiencing difficulty in getting to and from work on account of the restricted passenger omnibus ser vices; and whether he will sanction extra petrol allowances to omnibus companies prepared to provide the necessary transport?

Captain Wallace

Petrol is available for necessary passenger services and if the hon. Member will give me particulars of any specific cases which he has in mind I shall be glad to make inquiries into them.
