asked the Minister of Transport the object of taking off restaurant cars on main line trains to the great inconvenience of the travelling public; and whether he will consider reintroducing them?

The withdrawal of restaurant cars is due to the need, in present circumstances, for maintaining at a maximum the passenger-carrying power of trams. The possibility of providing buffet cars on a number of the longer distance main line trains is. however, being considered.
