HC Deb 03 October 1939 vol 351 cc1820-1
78. Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that the damage to the Butley Sluice, in the area of the East Suffolk Rivers Catchment Board, has rapidly worsened; and whether action will be promptly taken for its repair?

Sir R. Dorman-Smith

I am aware that the Butley Sluice is in urgent need of attention, and I am informed that the East Suffolk Rivers Catchment Board, after carefully considering the best course to take, have decided to rebuild the sluice, and are making arrangements for the work to be undertaken as quickly as present conditions permit.
