HC Deb 01 November 1939 vol 352 c1934
66. Mr. A. Edwards

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether the combine shops are allocated the same proportionate supplies as small butchers; and whether he has received any complaints?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

Complaints have been received and inquiry has shown that they arose from conditions caused by the recent temporary shortage of imported meat, which was due to alterations in methods of shipment. The arrangements made have the object of ensuring the equitable distribution of such meat to all classes of butchers alike, and I am informed that they are proving satisfactory.
