HC Deb 01 November 1939 vol 352 c1903
Mr. Vyvyan Adams

I beg to present a petition to the Honourable Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Parliament assembled. This humble petition of 9,262 citizens of Leeds showeth, among other things, that four-fifths of the parents of Leeds school-children have not supported the evacuation scheme, and that consequently approximately 65,000 children of the city are without educational facilities. Wherefore your petitioners pray for your urgent action in the matter of the reopening of the schools of Leeds. And your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
