HC Deb 01 November 1939 vol 352 cc1933-4
62. Mr. De la Bère

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether, in connection with the proposed increase of poultry for 1940, those breeders who have the necessary equipment to rear chicks intensively can have some assurance from the Government that, for the first few weeks after hatching, there will be adequate supplies of feeding-stuffs, especially cod-liver oil, available?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

I can assure my hon. Friend that everything possible will be done to ensure that supplies of feeding stuffs and cod-liver oil will be available for the rearing of chickens in the forthcoming season.

Mr. De la Bère

Is my right hon. Friend aware of the enormous efforts made by these breeders? And I thank him for his very helpful answer.
