HC Deb 01 May 1939 vol 346 c1492
25. Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will consider holding a conference with the milling combines and the milling industry for the purpose of securing a stabilised price for feeding stuffs for both poultry and cattle?

Sir R. Dorman-Smith

I am quite willing to discuss with representatives of the milling industry the possibility of Securing greater stability of prices of feeding stuffs for poultry and cattle.

Mr. De la Bère

While thanking my right hon. and gallant Friend for his reply, may I ask whether he will at the same time do all in his power to prevent the stranglehold that the milling combines have over this country, and is he further aware that they completely dominate the Board of Trade?
