§ Mr. RamsbothamThe number of registered growers who received deficiency payments under the Wheat Act, 1932, in respect of wheat sold during the cereal years 1937–38 was 76,649. The total expenditure of the Wheat Commission (including administrative expenses) for the current cereal year ending 31st July next, is estimated at approximately £9,400,000. The amount advanced to growers to date on account of deficiency payments on the current crop is approximately £4,920,600.
