asked the Secretary of State for War how many special scholar ships of £50 a year were awarded by the Army Council to help young officers in 1937?

Twenty such scholarships, tenable for five years, were awarded to officers appointed to commissions in the Regular Army during 1937.

What proportion does that figure bear to the number of applicants?
