asked the Prime Minister whether, with a view to spreading abroad knowledge of British institutions, he will consider the advisability of providing funds for the publication in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics of a Russian language newspaper to be entitled "Britain To-day," on the lines of that published in English in this country entitled "Russia To-day"?

In view of the general attitude of the Soviet Government towards the admission into, and distribution in, the Soviet Union of foreign newspapers and journals, I do not believe that the suggestion would prove practicable.
