HC Deb 13 March 1939 vol 345 cc29-30
48. Rear-Admiral Beamish

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the present large imports of milk pro ducts from the Dominions and foreign countries, the milk equivalent of which amounts to approximately twice the en tire milk production of this country, and in view of the seasonal increase in home milk supplies which is shortly due, he can state what steps he proposes to take to increase the subsidy for manufactured milk in order to provide an adequate system of price insurance for the milk- producers of this country?

Sir R. Dorman-Smith

As my hon. and gallant Friend will be aware, the whole milk problem is being re-examined and I am not at present in a position to make any statement thereon,
