§ Mr. E. BrownThe information desired is not available for any date since 28th February, 1938. At that date out of 367 unemployed men, aged 21 and over, on the registers of the Royston Employment Exchange 183 were aged 45 and over. At 16th January, 1939, there were 465 unemployed men, aged 21 and over, on the registers of that Exchange. Separate figures are not available in respect of Cudworth. As regards measures for assisting the older unemployed workers, I would refer the hon. Member to the statement made by my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Labour in the course of the Debate on Wednesday of last week.
