HC Deb 31 January 1939 vol 343 c36
61. Mr. David Adams

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he will make a statement as to the progress of the Civil Air Guard Scheme; and whether he has considered the desirability of providing advanced training for such units?

The Under-Secretary of State for Air (Captain Harold Balfour)

The general progress of the Civil Air Guard Scheme and the division of the members into categories for the purpose of advanced training have been the subject of statements recently issued by the Air Ministry, which have been fully reported in the Press. I am sending the hon. Member copies of these statements, which will give him the information he requires, and I shall be pleased to furnish him with any further information he may like to have on this subject.

Mr. Day

Is it intended to issue a leaflet or in any way to publish the terms?

Captain Balfour

These particulars have appeared in a great many newspapers circulating nationally and locally. If the hon. Member thinks his suggestion is a good one, I will look into it.
