HC Deb 28 February 1939 vol 344 c1084
67. Mr. Jenkins

asked the Secretary for Mines what changes are intended in the divisions of the mines of the country for the purpose of inspection, and when are they to be put into operation?

Captain Crookshank

A detailed scheme is being prepared for reorganising the inspection divisions on the general basis recommended in the Royal Commission's report, and to deal also with the associated questions of recruitment, conditions of service and remuneration, in regard to which the Commission also made important recommendations. The work is proceeding as speedily as possible, but I am not yet able to say what the changes will be or how soon they can take effect.
