asked the Home Secretary how many police loud-speaker cars are in use by the Metropolitan police force; and whether, in view of their importance in the air-raid precautions service, steps are being taken to increase their number?

Forty-two Metropolitan police cars are at present fitted with loud speaker equipment. This number is shortly to be materially increased.
