HC Deb 16 February 1939 vol 343 cc1902-3
69. Mr. Jenkins

asked the Home Secretary whether, as a result of the inquiries already made, he is satisfied as to the sources from which the supplies of explosives are obtained by the persons responsible for the outrages in this country; and whether he is now satisfied that all stores of explosives in this country are now properly guarded?

Sir S. Hoare

Pending the hearing of the cases which are subjudice it would not be proper for me to make any statement on the first part of the hon. Member's question. As regards the second part, there is need for continuous vigilance and care on the part of all those responsible for explosive stores, and as was stated in the answer which the Parliamentary Under-Secretary gave to the hon. Member on 6th February, special steps have been taken to see that attention is called to the matter.
